Legal notices and disclaimers
Markdown Safe is intentionally simple: it converts files locally in your browser. These notices explain the practical limits of that promise and the responsibilities that stay with you.
Not a substitute for review
Markdown Safe is a conversion utility, not a document-verification service. You are responsible for comparing the converted Markdown against the original file before using it.
No legal, medical, financial, or compliance advice
The site does not provide professional advice and should not be used as the only decision point for legal filings, contracts, patient materials, audits, financial reports, tax records, regulated documents, or safety-critical materials.
User-controlled files
You choose the files, you control the browser session, and you decide what to do with the converted output. You are responsible for having permission to process the files and for protecting confidential information on your own device.
Conversion limitations
Some documents will not convert perfectly. Scanned PDFs, password-protected files, complex layouts, multi-column text, unusual encodings, embedded media, footnotes, tracked changes, comments, and advanced tables may produce incomplete or incorrect Markdown.
Security limitations
Local browser processing helps avoid upload-based exposure, but it does not guarantee that your computer, browser extensions, clipboard, downloads folder, network, or later sharing choices are secure.
Third-party infrastructure
Markdown Safe is hosted by third-party infrastructure providers that deliver the website and may process ordinary web request logs. Those providers should not receive your document files through the converter because conversion happens locally.
Open-source and browser dependencies
Markdown Safe may rely on browser APIs and open-source libraries. Their behavior can change across browsers, file types, versions, and operating systems.
Your remedies
If Markdown Safe does not meet your needs, your remedy is to stop using it and choose another workflow. Do not use it where a conversion defect, outage, or formatting error could create unacceptable risk.
